Description
The Arle Court Transport Hub Civil enabling works scheme will provide realigned parking bays totalling 287 spaces on the west end of the existing park & ride, as well as a new temporary bus stop & turning circle to accommodate bus movements. The Scheme will also widen Grovefield Way in order to provide a right turn lane into the car park, and drainage improvements will also be implemented within the existing car park, including the extension of an existing attenuation pond. The above works will deliver improvements to the existing western carpark area, access to Grovefield Way and realignment of Grovefield Way, to enable this western area of the carpark to continue to function as a park and ride facility whilst the eastern area is decommissioned as part of the wider proposed works to the Arle Court Park and Ride facility. Construction and remediation will include; Grovefield Way • Widening of the existing carriageway at Grovefield Way, installation of provisions for a controlled pedestrian crossing, construction of 2 bell mouth entrances to the western car park including alterations to the drainage arrangement, and the diversion of utilities. Western Car Park • Clearance of the existing lighting, kerbs, and footway and replace with full depth reconstruction, including alterations to the drainage layout. Implement new temporary park and ride layout to allow the Eastern car park works to start. Eastern Car Park • Undertake site clearance of the area and earthworks to achieve the design levels of the multi-storey car park, including a sacrificial haul road. Remodelling of the Western Car Park • Clearance of the temporary arrangement and implement the final design, which includes; new footways, kerbs, landscaping, signs and white lining, street furniture, and street lighting. A summary of the outline programme for the scheme is shown below: Tender period: 8th December 2021 to 25th January 2022 Anticipated Award: 14th February 2022 Works Start Date: 14th March 2022 Works Completion: Section completion Phase 1a & 1b: 16th September 2022 Remobilisation (based on 4 weeks' notice) expected start: 13th November 2023 Completion (12week duration): 31st January 2024 Overall Duration: 30 weeks - Two visits Indicative Value: £2.50m The proposed procurement route will be a single stage (open process) using the NEC4 ECC Option A Priced form of contract with Activity Schedule.
