Description

The London Borough of Bexley has elected to commission four key statutory independent advocacy requirements through a single contract to procure a service to be known as the "Bexley Integrated Advocacy Service" which will provide a single gateway for the appointment of independent advocates under the Care Act, the Mental Capacity Act, and the Mental Health Act. It is also intended that the service will provide capacity for a small number of 'community advocacy' referrals on a call-off basis for people who would benefit from the support of an advocate that fall outside of the framework of statutory entitlement e.g. those with a learning disability or autism. This approach takes account of national guidance, stakeholder consultation and system challenges presenting as a result of historical fragmented commissioning arrangements for different strands of statutory advocacy within the borough. The contract will run from 1st April 2022 until 31st March 2024 with the option to extend up to a further 12 months . The estimated value of the contract is £180,000 per annum.
