Description

Buckinghamshire Council (the Council) is requesting information about the provision of Healthy Lifestyle Services to help us plan for future configuration of these services when the current contract ends in 2023. Suppliers are invited to participate in this exercise by completing the questionnaire available from the link below. This will help the Council understand the composition, capacity and views of the supply market. The information obtained from this exercise may be used to inform the Council's approach to any procurement process it undertakes for the delivery of these services. This document is for information purposes only and suppliers will not be held to any indicative costings nor excluded from any future procurement exercise on the basis of any information they provide. The scope for this request for information (RFI) is the Healthy Lifestyle Services which require robust governance arrangements that meet national standards. The commissioning of these services accords with the Buckinghamshire Joint Strategic Health Assessment and NHS Long Term Plan. The overall aim of the service is to provide advice and support, with evidence-based health improvement and behaviour change interventions for the residents of Buckinghamshire that help tackle a range of behaviours including: - poor diet and eating patterns which lead to overweight and obesity; - lack of physical activity; - smoking; and - increasing 'risk' or 'higher risk' alcohol consumption The aims of the service are to: - increase life expectancy in the long term - prevent and manage long term conditions such as obesity, cardio-vascular disease and diabetes - address mental health issues - address health inequalities - connect users to their communities and the support of the voluntary sector The Deadline for responses to this request for information is 12 noon on 19th January 2022.
