Description
The contract is for the main design and construction works of the Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside project.
Total Quantity or Scope
The procurement is for the design and construction of the main infrastructure works related to the Clyde Waterfront and Renfrew Riverside Project. The CWRR project aims to regenerate the Clyde Waterfront as an attractive riverside and urban area that supports existing and promotes new residential, industrial, commercial, business, retail and leisure opportunities. With the construction of a new opening bridge across the River Clyde, which will accommodate vehicles, pedestrians and cyclists, and the construction of the Renfrew North Development Road, the project will better link communities and businesses on both sides of the river. The project will also improve access to former industrial land which has lain dormant for some time, aiding the potential for private sector investment and revitalisation and development along of the riverfront area. The main infrastructure works to be included in the contract are as follows: Opening bridge over River Clyde New roads New and improved junctions Landscaping Drainage The works will also include a 24 month operation and maintenance period. The full Statement of Requirements detailing the works is included in the document titled 'CWRR ITP Information and Instructions for Candidates' attached to the PCS-tender system. The Council reserves the right to negotiate on characteristics of the works detailed in the Statement of Requirements depending on whether the value of the most economically advantageous tender is within the budget available for the works. The Council is using the competitive procedure with negotiation to procure a Design and Construct Contract with one Contractor and intend to utilise a form of NEC4 Engineering and Construction Contract Option C target cost contract with activity schedule for the construction works and a form of NEC4 term service contract for the operation and maintenance of the bridge, both with employer’s amendments.
