Description

This Deep Excavation contract award is to support Northern Gas Networks (NGN) in delivering a large portfolio of operational projects & works orders. This direct award will assist NGN's Operations to engage with contracted suppliers who are pre-qualified to carry out associated works.

Total Quantity or Scope

Services Provide & Install Temporary works for Excavation inc design & hire and back-fill with excavated material and remove temporary works upon completion of NGN's works. Provide & Install Temporary works for Excavation inc design & hire and back fill with specified material, i.e.: Type 1 MOT and remove temporary works upon completion of NGN's works. Provide & Install Temporary works for Excavation inc design & hire and back fill with concrete and remove temporary works upon completion of NGN's works.

Legal Justification

The contract for Deep Excavation Services has expired with no extension provisions remaining. This is an essential service so a direct award contract will be made to both Cummins Civil Engineering Ltd & Trenchless Solutions for a period of 10 months to allow an above threshold tender event to be carried out. A full above threshold tender event will be published on Achilles -already scoped and the planned publish date is Mid Feb 2022. In the meantime, it is essential that NGN have contracts in place for this essential service.
