Description

Supply of fresh bread and rolls to the Scottish Prison Service. Extension of an existing supply contract with Allied Bakeries for 12 months to the end of Jan 2023.

Legal Justification

Covid related restrictions and resource issues prompted a need to extend and ensure continuity of supply for these key food products into prisons by a supplier approved / cleared for such deliveries. Suppliers on other frameworks available to the SPS either did not provide sufficient geographic coverage to supply all SPS sites. Alternative suppliers also offered poor value for money for equivalent products.
