Description

To identify local training needs in relation to non-specialist mental health within the localities of Stockton-On-Tees, Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland. To commission training providers to deliver mental health promotion and suicide prevention training equitably across the three local authority areas based on need. Training should reflect recommendations for good practice from Public Health England (2016). The training hub will have an understanding of and seek out non-specialist mental health training opportunities that would add value to the existing training hub offer. The main aims of the training hub are to: • lead a cohesive approach to coordinate mental health related training • maintain the training database (trainers and participants) • provide local coordination and commissioning of training • provide support to organisations to effectively build training capacity • provide support to organisations that have been trained to utilise their knowledge and skills within their role and continue to develop.
