Description

We wish to engage a contractor to deliver the following services in support of the Spatial modelling and sensitivity mapping of seabirds and marine mammals in UK waters project, with the contract commencing in Winter 2022 and running until spring / summer 2025. - Collation (and where necessary, cleaning) of datasets relating to seabird and marine mammal abundance and distribution at sea; - Applying decision rules to existing datasets / data products to determine target areas for new data collection; - Modelling of seabird and marine mammal data to produce species-specific distribution maps across UK waters; - Applying (and, where necessary, deriving) sensitivity information to distributional models in order to produce heat maps of environmental risk, integrating this across models for seabirds, marine mammals, and benthic habitats (produced separately to this contract); and - Inputting to guidance on usage of the outputs and assisting in testing, promoting and publicising the outputs.
