Description

Balfour Beatty VINCI (BBV) have been awarded HS2 main works civils contracts, lots N1 and N2 under an Early Contractor Involvement contract (ECI). We are currently in stage two of the process. We are looking to engage with supply chain who provide the following. 1. Collaborative review of the BBV design and the delivery strategy of the precast slabs prior to fabrication commencing. 2. Design of lifting anchors / pins and concrete mix. 3. Definition of temporary loads during handling and storage operations. 4. Engineering / Quality Control / Workshop drawings of slabs prior and during the fabrication process. 5. Fabrication of precast slabs including shear stud spacing mock-up to ensure that rebar within the slab has been offset sufficiently to avoid clashes, any cast in embedded elements for permanent and temporary works and slab markings to identify internal and external edges. 6. Temporary storage at the Supplier's facilities, as necessary, of precast slabs prior to delivery to BBV site in accordance with the agreed delivery strategy and plan. 7. Transportation of precast slabs from the Supplier's facilities to BBV site in line with the EMR and other relevant standards. 8. Design and supply of any dunnage required for storage and transportation. 9. Test casts of the slab types for approval of finishes and concrete colour. The contract will be split into multiple contracts full details and specifications will be provided to the successfully shortlisted suppliers. Suppliers should be aware of the scale of this project and should assess their internal capabilities to be able to carry out the intended scope of works, prior to completing this expression of interest (EOI). Supplier's may then be invited to the project, to formally demonstrate their experience and capabilities. As an alternative phone/webinar interviews may be conducted. On selection, shortlisted supplier's will be issued with a formal pre-qualification and/or Invitation to Tender (ITT) to demonstrate their ability to work with these values and behaviors in mind, whilst proving their demonstration of capabilities and competence.
