Description

The Centre for Ageing Better want to work with key stakeholders within England's Mayoral Combined Authorities, supported by our Strategic Partner Greater Manchester Combined Authority, to increase understanding of how Combined Authorities can act to help people age better in their regions, with a particular focus on reducing inequalities. We want to commission consultancy services to support our scoping exercise to understand the current environment and policy landscape and identify the opportunities to work further with Combined Authorities to deliver the identified outcomes: Ageing Better's policy recommendations and asks for local and regional government will be well tailored to the powers of those organisations and more easily implementable. Leaders in regional government feel more enabled and equipped to promote and deliver change to improve later lives. Consultancy services will supplement our scoping activity with the technical expertise surrounding the devolved powers and funding arrangements of Mayoral Combined Authorities, knowledge of the leadership and policy-making and decision-making structures in place within Combined Authorities (including their partnerships with other regional bodies e.g. transport authorities, NHS) and additional relationship building with Combined Authorities and other key stakeholders.
