Description

The Provision of a Community Diagnostic Service - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI), Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS) and Adult Hearing Screening - NHS Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group. This procurement on behalf of NHS Wigan Borough CCG was for the Provision of Community Diagnostic Services. The Services were broken down into two specialist areas and formed separate Procurement Lots. Those specialist areas are as follows: Lot 1 - Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS) Lot 2 - Adult Hearing Screening Services.

1 Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) and Non-Obstetric Ultrasound (NOUS)

The Contracting Authority was seeking a direct access for NOUS and MRI, Head and Neck service that will aid early diagnostics and avoid the need for unnecessary referral to secondary care, ensuring a local service with staff qualified with appropriate levels of skill and experience, using equipment which complies with the most up-to-date guidance set by the Royal College of Radiologists, connection to NHS image transfer solutions, the ability to integrate with the e-Referral system, robust performance management systems and stringent levels of clinical governance. Awarding a single service contract to one successful Bidder with an anticipated maximum total value of £2,530,000 with an annual value estimated at £506,000 (CQUIN and MFF excluded). Bidder Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust was awarded the contract for Lot 1.

2 Lot No 2 - The Provision of a Community Diagnostic Service - Adult Hearing Screening - NHS Wigan Borough Clinical Commissioning Group

Lot 2 - the Contracting Authority seeks a comprehensive service for adults experiencing hearing and communication difficulties who feel they might benefit from hearing assessment and rehabilitation, including the option of trying hearing aids with aftercare and support, in line with the National Commissioning Framework, other national guidance and local requirements. Awarding contracts to three successful Bidders with an anticipated maximum total value of £4,055,000, with an annual value estimated at £811,000 (CQUIN excluded). Bidders Scrivens Ltd, Specsavers Hearcare Group Ltd and Wrightington Wigan and Leigh NHS Foundation Trust were awarded contracts for Lot 2.
