Description

Welsh Government is seeking to procure external support for the development and delivery of Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT)’s Global Teaching Labs (GTL) project in Wales. This project seeks to raise the profile of science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) subjects in schools in Wales and to provide additional support in the delivery of STEM education across Wales through collaborative innovation.

Total Quantity or Scope

Through GTL, MIT students are matched with school hosts in other countries for three weeks every year in January. At each location, students prepare and deliver tailored courses on STEM subjects that complement the school's curriculum and highlight MIT's hands-on approach to education. The programme supports the enhancement of STEM education and seeks to raise aspiration in schools in Wales in teaching these subjects. The successful bidder would further develop and deliver this programme as well as expand on the existing relationship between Wales and MIT by seeking Professional Learning opportunities and resources for teachers in Wales, building a robust Professional Learning programme included within the GTL initiative.
