Description
65 The GMC Barometer survey is a tracking survey that we run every year to find out how doctors’ experiences of practising in the UK are changing over time. Since the first Barometer survey in 2019, SoMEP reports have drawn extensively on the findings, including insight on workload pressures, burnout, patient care, and future career intentions. We are asking bidders to tender for the 2022 and 2023 Barometer surveys, with the option for the GMC to extend this to the 2024 and 2025 surveys. Evidence from these annual surveys will underpin our SoMEP publication over the upcoming years.
Total Quantity or Scope
This research is part of ongoing GMC work which aims to measure and track the state of medical practice in the UK through a set of key indicators on an annual basis. Findings from the barometer survey allow us to report on changes in doctors’ career intentions, experiences in the workplace, and frequency of adaptions to pressurised environments; providing this in the context of their scope of practice. The barometer survey is run annually, the current tender is to deliver the 2022 and 2023 Barometer surveys, with an option for the 2024 and the 2025 survey.
