Description
The Department for Education (DfE) is funding local authorities to provide free places on holiday activity schemes for one week at Easter and Christmas and for four weeks in the summer school holidays. Every session must include a meal that meets School Food Standards. Every scheme must meet the HAF standards relating to physical and enriching activities, nutritional education for participants and their families, inclusion and safeguarding.
Lot Division
1 | Childcare Places by Area and by Age Childcare Places by Area and by Age: Activity sessions must be structured around the age and assessed level of needs of children and young people accessing the service. |
2 | Bespoke Specialist Activities/Schemes Bespoke Specialist Activities/Schemes: Providers within this Lot will bid to deliver bespoke projects, which may have a different delivery model from Lot 1 (e.g. camping / residentials, programmes of trips or visits for teenagers, outdoor adventurous activities, cooking, horse-riding, water-based activities or schemes for children with SEND). These projects may be innovative, seasonal or focus on bringing communities together. They may be enriching activities for children that do not fit within a traditional childcare setting. They may be partnership projects that combine HAF funding with other funding streams. For specialist activities, Providers must set out how they will meet relevant national requirements, such as having appropriately qualified staff for, for example, canoeing or horse-riding activities. Activity sessions must be structured around the age and assessed level of needs of children and young people accessing the service. Food must be provided as set out in the specification requirements. The selected projects will be made available for eligible families/children to select and book places on free of charge. There is no guarantee that the maximum number of families/children will take up the provisions. |
