Description

Yorkshire Ambulance service are looking to engage the market to establish a Framework Agreement consisting of a range of patient-focused transport providers who are suitably qualified, this provision is for Private Providers and Taxi services across the Yorkshire region. The service shall be used mostly by the Patient Transport Service (PTS), for patients eligible for NHS funded transport who are unable to travel to their healthcare appointments by other means due to their medical condition. This also includes discharges, transfers, admissions and low acuity transport.

Lot Division

1 Standard Car

A vehicle with capacity to transport a minimum of three (3) patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance on any journey. This includes children travelling with an escort

2 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle and Driver only

A vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort and patients travelling in their own wheelchair.

3 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle and driver only with bespoke bulkhead

A vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort and patients travelling in their own wheelchair. Vehicles must have suitable bespoke bulkheads in situ with all rear cabin surfaces to be covered in a wipeable material. Patients booked as MTA (Must Travel Alone) due to an infection status would be transported in these vehicles with PPE requirements to be followed at all time (i.e Covid 19 Positive)

4 Wheelchair Accessible Vehicle and Driver only and Requirement for Moving a

All may require the assistance from an additional crew member.

A provider registered with the Care Quality Commission and a vehicle with capacity to transport patients able to get in and out of a standard car with minimal assistance, children travelling with an escort, patients travelling in their own wheelchair, patients travelling on a stretcher, All may require moving and handling equipment and assistance and the assistance from an additional crew member

8 Lot 8 Complex Mobility Patients

A provider registered with the Care Quality Commission and a vehicle with capacity to transport patients with complex mobility needs. This will require moving and handling equipment and assistance and more than two (2) crew members.

Yorkshire Ambulance Service are seeking to establish a framework of providers to transport patients that are eligible for NHS funded transport. This procurement exercise is divided into six (6) lots; these being based upon the type of vehicle and the level of patient mobility which can be allocated to each vehicle type for the conveyance of patients within the following areas: North Yorkshire, East Yorkshire, North Lincs, West Yorkshire and South Yorkshire.
