Description

EMR have a requirement for the maintenance of the Class 222 fleet under a new Train Services Agreement to be agreed. It should be noted that this service will only be required for 6-8 months from the January of 2023.This is to bridge the gap between the expiry of the existing maintenance contract and the exit of the fleet from the EMR stable. The chosen supplier will be required to TUPE the current maintainer's staff and will be responsible for TUPE staff to the new service provider at the end of this contract.

Total Quantity or Scope

EMR have a requirement for the maintenance of the Class 222 fleet under a new Train Services Agreement to be agreed. It should be noted that this service will only be required for 6-8 months from the January of 2023.This is to bridge the gap between the expiry of the existing maintenance contract and the exit of the fleet from the EMR stable, and the replacement of the 222 Fleet in service by the incoming class 810 fleet. The maintenance of the 810 fleet is already contracted and the supplier will be required to TUPE transfer all current 222 maintenance staff into their business at the start of the contract and out of their business to the 810 fleet maintainer at the end of the contract, which may be staggered to align with new 810 fleet introduction. The design authority for the 222 fleet rests with Alstom, so the supplier will be required to engage with Alstom regarding any technical issues, fleet modifications and NIRs. The supplier would be required manage the resource and the material supply to ensure unit availability and reliability is not affected by the transition either at the start or at the end of the contract.
