Description
The Authority are seeking Contractor(s) for the provision of Microscopes and Imaging Equipment including Associated Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs for the further and higher education sector and other public bodies in Scotland and the UK. The Authority are seeking to, through this tendering process, minimise the resource required to complete purchases for microscopes and imaging equipment. A maximum of 15 Contractors will be appointed to each lot on this framework contract.
Lot Division
1 | Optical Microscopes The supply, commissioning and installation of a variety of microscopes and imaging equipment suitable for a range of laboratory applications including, but not limited to: Compound Microscopes: Upright and inverted microscopes for use in teaching, tissue culture analysis and routine applications. Stereo and Zoom Microscopes: Upright or inverted equipment featuring optional fluorescence and camera systems, for routine and clinical dissection, sorting, and examination. Medical Microscopes: Products designed for specialist medical and surgical applications, e.g. colposcopes, surgical loupes and microscopes with specific task fulfilment in neurology, ENT, dermatology, ophthalmology, dental or maxillofacial medicine. 2 | New Technologies The supply, commissioning and installation of any new and forthcoming technology which falls under the heading of Microscopy and Imaging Equipment falls into this lot. This will include, but not be limited to: Non-traditional microscopes and imaging equipment. Spatial omics and multiplex imaging. Areas of developing innovation or products and associated equipment which utilise technology that crosses two or more lot boundaries imposed. Award Criteria

3 | Laser-based Imaging Systems and Laser Components The supply, installation and commissioning of laser-based Imaging Systems and Laser Components, including but not limited to: Upright or inverted microscopes using laser technology such as Confocal, Spinning Disc, TIRF and Multi-photon. Includes associated imaging equipment such as slide scanners Award Criteria

4 | Super Resolution and Enhanced Resolution Microscopes The supply, installation and commission of Super Resolution and Enhanced Resolution Microscopes, including but not limited to: Deterministic super resolution and stochastic super resolution microscopy equipment such as simulated emission depletion (STED), ground state depletion (GSD), SPDMphymod. 5 | Cameras for microscopy and associated equipment and software Supply, installation and commissioning of cameras for microscopy and associated equipment and software, including but not limited to: Specialist camera components for image acquisition in relation to life science applications and materials research Award Criteria

8 | General Accessories and Consumables The supply, installation and commissioning of all general accessories and consumables associated with microscopy, including but not limited to: Objectives Filter Sets Stands Eyepieces Adapters Award Criteria

9 | Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs for “Low End” microscopes and associated equipments Comprehensive or preventative maintenance and repairs of standard “of-the-shelf” equipment beyond its initial envisaged life cycle term. Bidders will be requested to submit their bids based on the following service levels: “Bronze” Service Level includes: Annual Service Visit Labour and Travel Costs for Annual Service Approved Manufacture Parts Priority Response to Call-Outs (to be agreed x3 per year) Call Out Charges Included Provision of Helpline Traceability of parts fitted Silver Service Level includes all of “Bronze” plus: Breakdown Labour and Travel Costs Gold Service Level includes all of “Silver” plus: Temporary Loan Units (if available) Return Courier Costs for above Cost of parts included Award Criteria

10 | Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs for “High End” microscopes and associated equipment The supply of Servicing, Maintenance and Repairs for “High End” microscopes and associated equipment, including but not limited to: Comprehensive or preventative maintenance and repairs of specialised equipment which may be bespoke, experimental or high value in nature beyond its initial envisaged life cycle term.
