Description
Birmingham and Solihull Youth Promise Plus project (YPP) is an education, employment and training project for young people aged 15-29. To be eligible for the project the young person must be NEET – not in education, employment or training. The aim of the project is to support young people into positive engagement in education, employment or training. As part of the YPP Birmingham City Council is now commissioning a supplier or suppliers for the provision of specialist services in two lots; • Lot 1: Specialist employment, education and training provision for young people with significant barriers • Lot 2: Specialist wrap around service for young people with mental health support needs
Lot Division
1 | Specialist employment, education and training provision for young people with significant barriers The contract will principally involve employing and effectively deploying Specialist Intervention Workers to provide in-depth personal and employment focused support to caseloads of young people (aged 15-29 years) with significant barriers and support needs. The aim will be to progress these young people into positive outcomes including further education, training and sustainable employment. There will focus those at risk of offending and with those leaving local authority care and looked after children (aged 16-18). |
2 | Specialist wrap around service for young people with mental health support needs The contract will provide a mental health service to deliver flexible wrap around support services to NEET young people (15-29) on the YPP project who have additional mental health support needs. These participants will be referred by other YPP partners and providers or self-referred and their mental health support will be ‘wrapped around’ their ongoing EET (employment education and training) support pathway. |
