Indicators
- Contract modified due to unforeseen circumstances.
Legal Justification
The contract was awarded in April 2020 following the issue of the Invitation to Tender (ITT) under the Open Procedure (Regulation 27) in December 2019, prior to the COVID-19 pandemic. The modification to the contract is being made under Regulation 72(1)(c) – due to the COVID-19 pandemic creating a circumstance which could not have reasonably been foreseen at the time of contract placement. The result of not providing the services under this contract modification would have had a detrimental effect on service delivery and impact on the wider health and social care system. The modification’s purpose is to support an increase in service demand and does not alter the overall nature of the contract and the price increase does not exceed 50% of the value of the original contract.
