Description
The aim of this overall project is to provide baseline evidence of a set of construction products that are made from four material groups (glass, steel, timber and concrete/gypsum/cement) likely to be Reclaimed, Reused or Recycled. Through discussions with the Construction Products Evidence Group (CPEG), Building Safety Regulator (BSR) and Department for Levelling Up, Housing & communities (DLUHC) it is evident that there is a clear lack of detailed evidence around how sub-sector supply chain functions and what role does reclaiming, reusing and recycling of materials play in the construction products manufacturing process. The evidence developed as part of this project is expected to feed into decision making answering the operational questions surrounding draft CPR regulations in addition to the foundation of evidence from which further, more specific projects will stem. It is split into 3 workstreams with Workstream 1 further developing supply chains work - extending the evidence basis being built by the existing OPSS project on supply chains. Workstreams 2 & 3 will focus on "Reuse or recyclability of the construction works, their materials and parts after demolition", which are basic requirements for both of the existing Construction Products Regulations (CPR 2013) and the future CPR 2022 regulations. The aims of the pre-market engagement session are to: • Gauge the level of interest from potential bidders • Provide an opportunity for prospective bidders to find out more about the aims of the procurement • For us to discuss the interests and experience of potential bidders • For bidders to provide opinion on aims and feasibility of the project • For potential modifications to the project to be determined before commencement Total budget summation: Workstream 1: Supply Chain ~£115k Workstream 2: Methodology £20k Workstream 3: Product lifecycle and associated risks £20k per project up to £80k in total Total value up to £225,000 for all three workstreams. It is anticipated that this procurement will be issued against DPS RM6126 Research & Insights framework. Interested suppliers should register with Crown Commercial Services for the RM6126 DPS as soon as possible. We would like to invite prospective bidders to attend a pre-market engagement session on Monday 27th June 2022 at 10:30-11:30 via MS Teams. The session will provide an opportunity for potential bidders to find out more about the aims of the procurement and the process. The agenda for the day is as follows: • Welcome & Introductions (BEIS) • Overview of the requirement (BEIS Presentation) • Procurement approach and process (UK SBS) • Discussion / Q&A (All)
