Description
Lot 1 Central Area. The contract requires the supplier to provide a fully comprehensive lift service to the University. This includes the regular planned preventative maintenance, 24 hour breakdown response and all repairs to the lifts to keep them operating in a safe and reliable condition. The repairs include any defects that are reported within the LOLER Thorough Examinations and those identified during Maintenance Evaluation Audits by our Lift Consultants. Lot 2 Peripheral Area. The contract requires the supplier to provide a fully comprehensive lift service to the University. This includes the regular planned preventative maintenance, 24 hour breakdown response and all repairs to the lifts to keep them operating in a safe and reliable condition. Legal Justification
The University of Edinburgh is now due to launch the new finance services part in their People and Money system in August 2022. As the system will be closed down for a period and resource will be impacted it is not be feasible to procure and mobilise new contracts. As this contract is business critical, the modification ensures that the University portfolio of lift installations are operating safely and are fully compliant to all regulatory requirements. The modification does not alter the overall nature of the contract and the increase in price does not exceed 50% of the initial contract value.

EC0795 Lift Maintenance is split into two lots. Both contracts are modified and extended for 12 months as per section VII. Lot 1 Central Area: ThyssenKrupp Elevator UK Limited (now TKE Elevator UK Ltd) Lot 2 Peripheral Area: Orona Limited Please note the total value of 170 600 GBP which was published in the original Contract Award Notice was based on planned annual maintenance only and did not incorporate reactive repairs. The total value of the modification as at VII.1.6 is based on both planned annual maintenance and reactive repairs. (SC Ref:695758)
