Description

This project will be a re-procurement of the Environment Agency’s current National Supply of Pollution Control Equipment framework. One of the Environment Agency’s key objectives is to reduce the number of pollution incidents and their impact on the environment. As part of this objective, the Environment Agency supplies Fire and Rescue Services (FRS), based throughout the UK, with standardised pollution control equipment, which will be used at incidents to minimise damage to the environment.

Lot Division

1 Sorbent Products

Sorbent pads, sheets, rolls, blankets booms, plant nanny and pillows to absorb oil and chemicals.

2 Drain and Leak Seal Products

Products designed to temporarily seal holes in leaking drums, pipes and vessels. Products designed to temporarily seal drain grates to prevent the ingress of liquid and inflate in drains or gullies to contain spills.

3 Containment Booms (Containment barrier – for land and fresh water)

Containment products designed to be used on the land and/or water to act as a liquid containment barrier.

4 Pop-Up Pools

Pools designed for rapid deployment under leaking tanks and vehicles, such as car and lorry fuel tanks.

5 6000 Litre Rollover Tanks and 7500 Litre Rollover Tanks

Tanks designed for rapid deployment under or alongside leaking road tankers to contain leaking hydrocarbons and chemicals from strong acids to strong alkalis.

6 Overpack Drums

Drums designed to enclose damaged containers in a liquid and air-tight environment.

7 Flexible Tanks (with and without Frames) and Liners

Self-supporting tanks used for storing water, oils or low-hazard chemicals.

8 Managed Services for Pumps

A comprehensive managed service including inventory, maintenance, repair, spares and replacement parts service for the portable pumps currently in service with Fire and Rescue Services throughout England.

9 Spill Kit Bags

Spill kit grab bags are carried on front line FRS appliances across the country. They are designed to provide initial containment from spills at incidents. It is anticipated that the bag will be supplied empty to be filled/replenished with the required equipment by individual users.

10 Supplimentry Items

Plastic bags, adhesive tape, hazard warning diamonds, cable ties, wooden stakes and drain tracing dye.
