Description

Arden & Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit and Dudley Integrated Health and Care NHS Trust (DIHC), on behalf of the NHS Black Country Integrated Care Board and Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council (The commissioner), are seeking to put in place a Short Break Residential Care Service for Children and Young People with a Disability. DIHC are seeking a provider or providers who are suitably qualified and experienced to provide this service. The service is split into two cohorts as categorised using the criteria based on Aiming High priority group A and B as follows. Perspective providers should note that the majority of children and young people will have a severe learning disability: • Group A - comprises children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Disorder (who have severe learning disabilities or behaviour which is challenging) or those children and young people whose challenging behaviour is associated with other impairments such as severe learning disabilities. • Group B - comprises children and young people with complex health needs including those with a disability and life limiting conditions, and/or those who require palliative care and/or those with associated impairments such as cognitive or sensory impairments and/or have moving/handling needs and/or require special equipment/adaptations. The service will be provided for children and young people with disabilities from the age of 4 up to their 18th birthday or up to the age of 19 if in education and they have received a referral by Dudley Children's Services Children's Disability Team according to their criteria. Children under age 4 may the referred into the service if they are in crisis and are at serious risk of family breakdown. The commissioner is advertising this opportunity via a Prior Information Notice (PIN) as a call for competition and interested parties are required to register their interest in writing. The form in which expressions of interest must be submitted in writing is outlined in the relevant documentation found on the CSU's e-tendering portal. For the avoidance of doubt, no further notice shall be issued with regard to this procurement.
