Description

Central Bedfordshire Council has established a Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) between the Council and approved providers for the provision of holiday activities for eligible children as per the specification and in accordance with, but not limited to the Department for Education (DfE) HAF guidance and expectations alongside the School Food Standards Guidelines. Notice reference: 2022/S 000-004257We are able to reopen this DPS up to two times per year contract year (May - April) and we are carrying out one of these reopening exercises now.Providers should predominantly focus their offer of services in the areas identified as having the highest number of children eligible for free school meals within the county which are: Sandy, Biggleswade, Shefford, Stotfold, Marston Moretaine, Cranfield, Ampthill, Flitwick, Dunstable, Houghton Regis and Leighton Buzzard.

1 Youth Activities

For youth provision we are looking for clubs that can offer varied and enriching age appropriate activities which could include but does not have to be restricted to physical activities such as nature walks, swimming or trampolining, creative activities such as music lessons, song writing workshops or dance and acting workshops, visits and trips out to local attractions such as farms, zoos and theatres or support with careers advice, mental health and further education options . Sessions aimed at children and young people aged between 11 and 16 years old.

2 Sports Activities

For sports provision we are looking for clubs that can offer varied and enriching physical activity which could include but does not have to be restricted to activities such as rugby, swimming, cricket, tennis, golf, football, gymnastics, trampolining, dance, cycling, netball or basketball. Sessions should be aimed at children and young people aged between 5 and 16 years old.

3 Creative Activities

For creative provision we are looking for clubs that can offer varied and enriching creative activities which could include but does not have to be restricted to activities such as pottery, painting, acting, a range of different dance styles, learning to play a musical instrument or song writing. Sessions should be aimed at children and young people aged between 5 and 16 years old.

4 Multi-Activity Holiday Clubs

For the Multi-Activity holiday club provision, we are looking for clubs that can offer varied and enriching age-appropriate activities which could include but does not have to be restricted to: physical activities such outdoor games, nature walks, the use of scooters, bikes and outdoors sports equipment, creative activities such as access to musical instruments, singing, arts and crafts and cooking, fun educational games and activities such as board games, books/story time and sand/water play. Providers should also consider and include local outings such as trips to farms, zoos and theatres or support with careers advice, mental health and further education options. Multi-Activity holiday club sessions should be as aimed at children and young people from reception class to year 11.
