Description
Bassaleg School invites tenders from experienced catering providers for the provision of a school meals catering service. The current contract for this provision expires on 17 February 2023 with the new contract commencing on 27 February 2023. The contract will be for a period of 5 years and at the end of the 5th year the School may, upon contract review, extend the Contract Period up to five (5) years on an annual basis or a period as agreed by both parties. It is considered that TUPE will apply.
Total Quantity or Scope
Bassaleg School wishes to contract with an experienced provider to deliver a school meals catering service to help it meet its Wellbeing Objectives to enable people to be healthy, independent and resilient which contributes to Welsh Government’s wellbeing goal for a healthier Wales. The successful contractor will deliver the service as a minimum in accordance with the Healthy Eating in Schools Wales Regulations 2013. The new contract will initially service two separate canteens at the School which are to be replaced with one canteen opening in September 2023. The new canteen will increase capacity and significantly improve the dining experience of pupils, staff and potentially the wider community in future years.
