Description
NHS Arden and Greater East Midlands Commissioning Support Unit on behalf of NHS England Midlands (the Commissioner) invited suitably qualified providers to deliver Unscheduled Dental Services in Nottingham City. The contract will start on 1st January 2023 and will run as a Personal Dental Services (PDS) Agreement for the period of 18 months (initial period). Commissioners have the option to extend up to an additional 12 months thus making a possible maximum agreement of 30 months. The Unscheduled Dental Services will encompass emergency and urgent dental problems that may present within or outside routine working hours. The successful provider will deliver an unscheduled dental care service and provide assessment and treatment for patients with a variety of non-life-threatening dental conditions. The contract values stated have been amended to reflect the 22/23 NHS DDRB uplift announced post ITT publication and are applied to this contract.
Total Quantity or Scope
The service will reduce inappropriate attendances at A & E whilst ensuring services are provided in a safe, caring, appropriate and accessible environment; and to contribute the dental element of an integrated unscheduled health care service by providing advice, care and treatment to patients via NHS 111 using administrative, nursing, medical and dental professionals.
