TENDERS ARE INVITED from suitably experienced Contractors for works on Lubbesthorpe Brook, Mossdale Meadows brook. The work involves: 1. Undertake works to realign watercourse as per attached plans 2. Removal of existing pedestrian culvert bridge 3. To replace pedestrian bridge with a suitable ready-made bridge 4. To install box gabions along both banks of realigned watercourse as shown on attached plans on both sides of the newly installed culvert bridge 5. To remove existing vehicular culvert bridge 6. To replace vehicular culvert bridge with single box culvert 7. To ensure new vehicular culvert bridge surface is sufficient to carry weight of New Holland tractor and is sufficient to serve as both pedestrian and vehicular access point 8. To prepare and submit relevant Permit application required for the works, to the Environment Agency 9. To prepare and submit relevant Temporary Footpath diversion application to Leicestershire County Council for the temporary removal of the footpath which is Public Right of Way The Contractor must provide within the quoted price: 1. All costs associated with preparing the quote, including site visits; 2. Meeting Health &Safety requirements; 3. Site Set-up and returning the site to use, including removing all debris from site; 4. Carriage and Off-Loading; 5. All processing and administration costs; 6. All labour and third-party costs; and 7. Details of all taxes, including VAT. 8. All costs associated with obtaining relevant Permit from the Environment Agency 9. All costs associated with obtaining relevant Temporary Footpath Diversion The following is available to assist contractors tendering: • Details of Braunstone Town Council and the open space • Plans for the required work to the banks of the brook, vehicular and pedestrian bridges • Suggested design for ready-made pedestrian bridge • Photographs of flooding, existing banks, pedestrian and vehicular bridges for reference Documents are available on Braunstone Town Council's website www.braunstonetowncouncil.org.uk or by contacting the Deputy Chief Executive & Community Services Manager. Valid tenders must include details of 1 - 9 above along with the tender price and must be delivered enclosed in a plain, sealed envelope, endorsed "Tender - Lubbesthorpe Brook and Culvert Bridges" and addressed to the Office of Chief Executive & Town Clerk, Braunstone Town Council, Braunstone Civic Centre, Kingsway, Braunstone Town, Leicester, LE3 2PP, or emailed to executiveofficer@braunstonetowncouncil.org.uk no later than 4pm on Monday 24th October 2022
