Description

This project is for the construction of a regional standard cycling closed road circuit, learn to ride area, extension & refurbishment of existing car park and construction new overspill car park. The cycling closed road circuit is intended to form part of a wider scheme of improvements in the immediate vicinity, including a new pavilion, BMX track and a full size 3G AGP which are being procured separately. The cycling closed road circuit and learn to ride area are to be located immediately adjacent to the sites car park with direct access to new pavilion and the main sports facilities on the site. The main car park is to be extend and re-surfaced. A new overspill parking area is also to be constructed. The cycling closed road circuit is to have a completion loop of circa 1km with a number of internal loops and cross over points to enable a minimum of 3 separate groups to use the track concurrently on occasion. The learn to ride offer is to cater for younger riders from balance bikes onwards. The cycling closed road circuit is to feature: • Asphalt surfacing • Specialist metal perimeter fencing • Sports lighting • Start finish/commissars area
