Other Information
** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** The buyer is using PCS-Tender to conduct this ITT exercise. The Project code is 22606. For more information see: http://www.publiccontractsscotland.gov.uk/info/InfoCentre.aspx?ID=2343 Community benefits are included in this requirement. For more information see: https://www.gov.scot/policies/public-sector-procurement/community-benefits-in-pr... A summary of the expected community benefits has been provided as follows: Contractors are asked to indicate what types of Awareness Raising or Community Support activity they would propose delivering if awarded contract and what they have done to support their own communities. Failure to specifically provide information of the types of Awareness Raising or Community Support activity you propose to deliver will affect your score for this element In June 2018 Dundee City Council approved a New Community Benefits from Procurement Policy which includes a Council wide approach intended to secure the maximum economic and social benefits for the citizens of Dundee from City Council Procurement, within the current legal framework. Community Benefits is the term used to refer to a range of 'social issues' including targeted recruitment and training, equal opportunities considerations, supply chain initiatives, awareness raising programmes and community engagement activity which contribute more widely to sustainable procurement. Sustainable procurement is defined as “a process that achieves value for money on a whole life basis and generates benefits not only to the organisation, but also to society and the economy whilst minimising damage to the environment.” As part of this policy, Dundee City Council is committed to securing Community Benefits from procured contracts and will require the successful bidder to work with it, as part of the delivery of the contract in transforming the community in a real and sustainable manner. Community Benefit Requirements To this end, Bidders for contract will be required to deliver two Awareness Raising Event or Community Support activity in relation to this contract. Post award, the Councils Community Benefits Officer will contact the successful contractor to advise on the type of outcome which can be delivered. Support will be provided to identify an appropriate intervention but this can include a wide range of activities which support learning and employability such as talks about waste reduction and management for school, college or university students or job seekers; training workshops carried out by contractors for target groups to raise awareness of their sector and its benefits and where appropriate the careers available, motivational talks, school talks, or to run events which tie in with a particular aspect of the curriculum. Community Support activities can include participating in an activity which supports the people or communities in Dundee, including assisting in community clean ups or development projects. Note that at the agreement of both parties, a work experience placement can be delivered instead of an awareness raising outcome. Assistance to source an appropriate work experience opportunity would be provided by the Community Benefits Officer. Note that the Council is currently developing a Community Wish system which will become live during the delivery of this contract. This will aid contractors in identifying activities which can be delivered as part of their Community Benefit requirements. (SC Ref:709899)
