Description

The provision for Appointeeship Service is required to ensure that vulnerable adults whom lack capacity to manage their financial affairs independently are supported to enable them to live a quality standard of living, with their income being maximised to meet their needs in their best interest. The demand for the provision of Appointeeship Services will not exceed 60 cases that will be transferred from Swindon Borough Council. There are currently 57 cases being managed by Swindon Borough Council. Cases numbers are not expected to decrease unless in the event that a) the service user regains capacity to manage their finances independently, b) an alternative person is identified to undertake this role on their behalf or c) the service user passes away. Swindon Borough Council are no longer taking on new Appointeeships therefore there will be no further cases added to the initial amount that are under this agreement. The provision should be undertaken in accordance with guidance and requirements issued by the DWP. Where cases are relinquished by the third-party provider for the reasons stated above, the transfer of new cases would be considered under this agreement, however unlikely for the reasons also stated above. There are no limitations on the geographical scope of the service users, some of which may reside outside of the Local Authority area. The Period of the Agreement will be for a minimum of three years and continue for as long as Appointee services are provided to any existing service users under this agreement. The initial contract term will be for 36 months with an option to extend for a further 12 months for a potential total contract term of 4 years as stated in the ITT documents. Estimated contract spend is £ 135,000 across the initial 3 year contract term and £180,000 across the potential total 4 year contract term.
