The NIHR Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre (CRNCC) is hosted by the University of Leeds under contract from the Department of Health and Social Care. The Clinical Research Network Coordinating Centre manages the Clinical Research Network (CRN) on behalf of the Department of Health and Social Care. The CRN is made up of 15 regional Local Clinical Research Networks (LCRNs) that cover the length and breadth of England. The current Join Dementia Research system was developed in 2014 by the NIHR National Director for Dementia Research (NDDR) and the charity partners, Alzheimer’s Research UK, Alzheimer Scotland, Alzheimer Research UK, in response to the Prime Minister’s Dementia Challenge (2012), it was launched in February 2015 and has been run by CRNCC since 2016. It enables the public to express an interest in participating in dementia research studies and provides an easy-to-access mechanism for researchers recruiting to ethically approved dementia studies, to find participants that match their study enrolment criteria. Since its launch, it has become the leading source of recruitment to dementia research studies across the United Kingdom, having delivered over 68,000 study enrolments into 646 studies, across 313 research sites. The service has attracted over 59,000 volunteers and has had 2,260 registered research users. Furthermore, the studies delivered have so far resulted in 134 peer-reviewed publications. Agreement has been secured with DHSC for this JDR2 work on the basis that any resulting development will be used by the Be Part of Research Volunteer Service, also delivered by CRNC, to create a condition-agnostic registry and matching service, with agreement from DHSC and NHSE to position it as the Master Patient Registry within the UK, linking to other regional registries and conditions specific registries such as JDR2. This ongoing collaboration with NHSE will support their commitment in the NHS Long Term Plan to recruit 1 million people to consent-to-contact registries. … Additional information: To respond to this opportunity please click here: https://www.delta-esourcing.com/respond/DQ59P4UXR9
