Income Recovery Officer Rate of Pay: ?14.17 per hour (PAYE) Hours: 37 Hours per week Location: Working from Home/Sandwell Council House, Oldbury Start Date: ASAP Contract type: Agency Job Description and Personnel Specification are attached, which also provides more information above the role. Brief description: The Income Management Service is responsible for managing, monitoring and recovering arrears of rent and other housing related charges from current and former tenants. A key objective is to combine the effective recovery of arrears with tenancy sustainment through the provision of quality advice, assistance and support to those in need. You will be a key player in ensuring prompt and effective early action is taken to control and recover outstanding arrears for current tenants up to eviction. We are looking for applicants who can demonstrate: o Literacy level 2 or equivalent o Excellent negotiation and communication skills o Excellent customer service skills o Excellent negotiation and persuasive skills o Ability to take a proactive casework approach to recovering debt o A performance driven work ethos o A desire to help customers to sustain their tenancies o Highly organised and understand the importance of attention to detail o A good working knowledge of arrears management procedures and processes o Ability to use own initiative when supporting vulnerable customers and dealing with complex arrears cases o A good working knowledge of Universal Credit
