Description

Northern Gas Networks are seeking a logistics provider to support its daily operations

Total Quantity or Scope

Following expiry of their existing logistics contract which expires in July 2023, Northern Gas Networks seeks to establish a contract with a single supplier by January 2023 to provide logistics management to support NGNs daily operations ensuring a fast and efficient service. In awarding the contract 6 months ahead of expiry will allow for any mobilisation / de-mobilisation and TUPE requirements to be complete, should this be required. The awarding supplier will be responsible for the central purchasing, storage and distribution of stock for Northern Gas Networks and will be expected to provide and deliver the following as a minimum: A suitable warehouse facility - This must be located within NGN's geographic area (as shown on the map below) Warehouse access for NGN personnel, for a minimum of 51 weeks per annum, 5 days a week from Monday to Friday 7am - 5pm, with the facility to provide out of hours emergency support outside of the dedicated days and hours stated above Warehouse management and associated staff Distribution facility - Centralised delivery system to NGN depots and occasionally direct to site. Gas Meter management & distribution Materials planning Stock level optimisation Stock profiling Vendor performance reporting Integrated supplier collection service using dedicated fleet Circa £2m of stock management The Logistics Contractor shall be expected to order all goods from Framework Agreements with a range of NGN contracted suppliers Support NGN Accounts Payable team with any invoice queries. Support the onboarding of additional work streams to the existing materials management processes Provide logistics support and solutions to the business as required

Renewal Options

The proposed contract will be awarded for an initial term of 3 years with the option to extend the contract for a further 5 x 1-year periods thereafter taking the potential contract expiry to 2031
