Description

Royal Navy and Royal Marine (RN/RM) Service Personnel are required to meet the standards of dress detailed in BRd3(1) Naval Personnel Management Regulations. Service personnel require a seamster service to ensure that standards are maintained in accordance with BRd3(1) para 3702 “Uniform identifies all members of the Naval Service. High standards of dress, deportment and grooming are universally recognised as marks of a trained, disciplined and professional Service and Commanding Officers are to ensure that their personnel maintain the required standards at all times. Modified or idiosyncratic dress is indicative of an inefficient and undisciplined Service.” These services include the necessary alterations to Uniform Clothing together with the sewing on of required insignia and decorations. To continue to offer an appropriate level of support to personnel, it is necessary to continue with a seamster service. In doing so, ensuring personnel continue to promote the Naval Service in a positive manner during Ceremonial and State events.
