Description

Forestry England are looking to award a contract for the delivery first class alpaca and llama walking experiences which include meet and greets at Whinlatter Forest. The contactor will be expected to promote Whinlatter Forest and Forestry England within marketing materials, via social media channels and during activities they deliver. It is expected that there will be a range of activities provided that offers opportunities for all visitors and provide accessibility for all. Forestry England are looking to work with an exceptional delivery partner who understands the organisation’s values and aims. A thorough understanding of Whinlatter Forest and how it operates is essential to providing a first-class visitor experience. These experiences will contribute to excellent visitor reviews for both Whinlatter Forest, Forestry England as well as the contractor. The contactor must have all walking routes preapproved by Forestry England and provide all necessary paperwork such as rick assessments, public liability cover etc when requested. Walks will be restricted to footpaths and forest roads. Walking on mountain bike trails will not be permitted. The contactor must report participation figures monthly and financial figures on a quarterly basis for Forestry England to raise invoices based on the details of the contact. It will be a requirement for the contractor to promote the completion of the Active Forest Survey to all participants. It is expected for the contactor to keep in good repair the area in which they operate including the field and any outbuildings within it. Animal welfare is of the upmost importance and details should be provided to Forestry England as to how the animals will be looked after and which regulations or governing body recommendations are being followed. Whinlatter is home to stunning views, fantastic walks, exhilarating mountain biking, rare wildlife and adventure play. Set within the Lake District, a World Heritage Site, Whinlatter has unrivalled views across Bassenthwaite Lake, Derwentwater and Keswick. Visitor numbers are in the region of 250,000 each year. The forest is serviced by a public transport bus. The site offers a café, bike hire, and tree top adventure with Go Ape.
