Description
Provision of education for children of compulsory school age for whom the contracting authority has statutory responsibility, where mainstream or special schools do not meet full educational requirements for a wide range of reasons which can include: • Behaviour which results in a permanent or fixed-period exclusion, • Health reasons – including physical or mental health needs, or a disabled child • Where a child is awaiting placement in a mainstream school; and • Interim or supplementary education for a Looked after Child (LAC) The contracting authority is seeking providers who are able to strengthen and improve outcomes of these vulnerable children and young people, by ensuring access to high quality alternative education provision.
