Description

This procurement is for three potential work packages involving restoration and refurbishment works to Facades in relation to the New Museum Project. This involves works relating to the following; - glazing - lunnettes - steel windows.

Lot Division

1 TP3500 - West Poultry Avenue Glazing
  • Duration: 16.5 month
  • Value: £2M

This Lot involves the procurement of works in relation to the Museum of London's New Museum Project, namely the entrances on the North and South ends of West Poultry Avenue. They include a structural glass walling system with up to 6.5m high and 8.0m wide double glazed units, as well as sliding doors systems within the concrete portal frames and metal soffit panels. WIN-23 Learning entrance is included in the package, comprising a fixed glazed screen, hinged doors with integrated back-lit stainless steel signage, and a perforated aluminium soffit. RFL-05 General Market restaurant roof skylight / RFL-07 West Poultry Avenue rooflight should be included as an option within the package. They are proprietary thermally broken steel rooflight systems with aluminium caps. They include double glazed units and insulated metal panels (zinc) glazed in the system. 2 TP3501 - Lunettes Glazing

This procurement relates to lunettes glazing work in relation to the Museum of London's New Museum Project across 4 elevations of the Poultry Market building roof. It is a thermally broken, steel reinforced, aluminium curtain walling system with double glazing. The design intent is based on a Schueco system, but with a bespoke profile to replicate the existing heritage window system, and is to undergo a project specific performance test. There is a mix of fixed glazing and fully automated opening vents, including all necessary actuators wiring and controllers required for the standalone operation of the system. Poultry Market ground floor metal cladding, windows and metal doors are included within the package. They are typically stainless steel / steel / aluminium proprietary systems. RFL-05 General Market restaurant roof skylight / RFL-07 West Poultry Avenue rooflight should be included as an option within the package. They are proprietary thermally broken steel rooflight systems with aluminium caps. They include double glazed units and insulated metal panels (zinc) glazed in the system. The West Poultry Avenue rooflight also has an integrated access and maintenance system.

3 TP3501 - Steel Windows
  • Duration: 19 month
  • Value: £5M

This procurement is for works in relation to the Museum of London's New Museum Project, involving works relating to work involving steel windows which are to the gable ends and clerestory windows of the Poultry Market monitor roofs, as well as the East and West elevations of the loading bays, and the clerestory windows of the West Poultry Avenue roof. They are a proprietary thermally broken steel window system with double glazing, to replicate the existing heritage window system, and are to undergo a project specific performance test. There is a mix of fixed glazing and automated opening vents (including actuators), as well as insulated metal panels and openings which integrate ductwork. There is a firestopping detail at the base of the gable end window system. Poultry Market roof lanterns are included within the package. They have a double curved single glazed Georgian wired slumped glass panels on top (WIN-38) to replicate the existing.

Renewal Options

The Contracting Authority reserves the right to combine relevant Lots into a singular form of contract should it be advantageous and beneficial to do so. The right is also reserved to not proceed with the procurement of a lot or lots should its requirements change during the course of this tender process. Potential optional savings across lots may be requested if invited to tender.
