Description

Due to Health & Safety risks and the time taken to decontaminate using the existing Hydrogen Peroxide Vapour (HPV) systems, Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board is looking to transition to an alternative method of decontamination using Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL) for Domestic Services pan-BCUHB. The Health Board is seeking to purchase eight large Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL) based acid misting units. The machine must be compatible for use within a clinical healthcare environment, using a stable Hypochlorous Acid that meets the required UK regulations.

Total Quantity or Scope

The Health Board is seeking to purchase eight large Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL) based acid misting units. The machine must be compatible for use within a clinical healthcare environment, using a stable Hypochlorous Acid that meets the required UK regulations. The following will be required as part of the specification. Misting Unit Requirements: Misting rate - 60ml/min Size of mister – approx. 35x35x73cm Capacity - 4L To produce a dry mist of under 5microns Machine/Equipment must be able to disperse a vapour with minimum coverage of a six bed hospital bay (approximately, 200 cubic metres) which can be remotely activated from outside the room. Machine/Equipment must have an Aeration Unit to disperse vapour within non-vented areas. Machine/Equipment must be easy cleanable with a build quality which is fit for use within a clinical environment. Machine/Equipment must be easy to handle for one person, on its own trolley system, which is compatible for movement on internal & external surfaces. Machine/equipment must have a minimum of 12 months warranty with technical support/site response within 24 hours. Machine/equipment must be supplied with vent & smoke detection covers. Solution/product used must have proven stability for a period of 12 months and meet the required UK regulations for use in a clinical environment. Evidence of Registration required. Solution/product must be supplied in 5 litre containers. The machine and solution must have been tested and validated within a real-time, clinical setting through an independent registered laboratory. A minimum of one NHS Healthcare reference site who are actively using the machine/equipment and solution must be provided as part of the response.
