Legal Justification
A previous lack of interest in the requirement would indicate that Aquamarine Chemicals are the only UK-based supplier in operation with the infrastructure in place to deliver the required level of service in the UK. Companies who had shown interest in the previous contract are now either no longer in operation or have been subsumed into other companies, with no UK-based offices. The potential extension of the existing Contract CSS/0121 for a further additional one-year period with Aquamarine Chemicals will deliver continued supply of essential chemical products and analytical support to RFA Platforms and HMS Scott, ensuring business continuity until interest in the requirement is again tested via the relevant procurement procedures in FY 23/24 for anticipated contract award in April 2024. This is Subject to Contract.
