Description

Hull City Council works closely with its public sector partners and local agencies throughout the region to support the Armed Forces Community. The city has an Armed Forces Forum (AFF), which is recognised nationally as a model of good practice. The AFF holds regular meetings and brings together a wide range of local representatives to share good practice, knowledge, experience, and expertise. To fulfil the requirements of this contract, the Council is seeking to appoint a provider to act as the Armed Forces Forum's 'one stop shop' to provide support to local veterans. The organisation appointed will act as a key point of contact for veterans to access support and advice. The appointed organisation will work with the Council's Armed Forces Covenant Officer and specialist local support organisations to address any issues or concerns, to consider improvements to support, and to raise awareness of any concerns or gaps in provision which might arise. The project will run initially for two years (02.05.2023 - 30.04.2025), with an option, subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability, to extend for a period, or periods, not exceeding a further 12 months. Hull City Council are looking for a suitably experienced organisation, or organisations, with a proven track record, to deliver a comprehensive support package to our armed forces community. The successful contractor will act as the Armed Forces Forum's 'one stop shop' to support members of Hull's local armed forces community including: Regular Personnel - Currently serving; Royal Navy, Royal Air Force, Merchant Navy, Reservists, Veterans; Families, including Immediate family; Spouses, civil or other partners, children for whom the veteran or partner are responsible; Bereaved Immediate family.
