Description

The National Composites Centre (NCC) is running a multi-Lot tender for the procurement of a suite of composite tools for an aerospace project. The two Lots available are: • ITT_1261: Forming Tool (Tender) • ITT_1263: RTM Tool (Tender)

Lot Division

1 Aerospace Composite Forming Tool

The NCC require the design, manufacture and supply of a tool for a forming manufacturing process using dry fibre non-crimp fabric (NCF) of a complex aerospace component. The component is approximately 6000mm x 750mm and up to 20mm thick. It is expected that process development will be carried out on the same tooling for a smaller component.

2 Aerospace Composite RTM Tool

The NCC require the design, manufacture and supply of a tool for a Resin Transfer Moulding (RTM) manufacturing process of two complex Thermoset composite aerospace components. The first component is approximately 6000mm x 750mm and up to 20mm thick, and the second at 1500mm x 650mm and up to 20mm thick. The smaller component is a shorter version of the main component and will be used to develop and prove out the full-scale manufacturing process and tooling concept.

CPV Codes

  • 42900000 - Miscellaneous general and special-purpose machinery
  • 44510000 - Tools

Indicators

  • Restrictions apply to the lot award allocation.
  • This is a one-off contract (no recurrence)
  • Renewals are not available.

Other Information

Both ITTs are published as Open tenders, therefore all suppliers are invited to submit bids to one or both. However, due to customer confidentiality requirements, the Tender Documentation is not held on these Open ITTs. Suppliers will be given access to a separate, invitation-only ITT to obtain the documents, following completion of a Non-Disclosure Agreement (those suppliers who signed an NDA during the RFI stage do not need to do this again). If your organisation has not already completed an NDA, please message on the Tendering Portal requesting the template; one completed and signed NDA is sufficient to enable access to the Tender Documentation for both Tooling ITTs. Please refer to the document Project_2585 Tender Access Instructions for full details on gaining access to the Tender Documentation for each Tool. ** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** Tenderers may submit bids for one or for both Tool ITTs. The University reserves the right to award both Tool contracts to the same Tenderer (assuming said Tenderer has submitted a separate bid for both); however, the University is not obligated to do so and reserves the right to award to different Tenderers. The NCC will not meet any costs incurred by any party in responding to either ITT. The NCC reserves the right to award all, none, or part of the business.
