Description
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) wishes to tender a Blood Borne Virus (BBV) engagement and support service for key at risk populations and those living with BBVs in NHSGGC. The awarded contract will initially be until the 31st March 2025 with the potential for up to three further one year extensions. Joint bids are acceptable if it can be demonstrated that partnership working would provide significant benefits to service provision. It is anticipated that staff of organisations currently providing services may transfer under TUPE on award of the contracts.
Total Quantity or Scope
BBVs, the most prevalent of which are HIV, hepatitis C and hepatitis B pose a significant risk to both personal and public health, particularly if they remain undiagnosed. In Scotland, the Government has committed to eliminating Hepatitis C as a Public Health concern by 2024 and a proposal has been development for Government outlining ambitions to eliminate HIV transmission in Scotland by 2030 Hepatitis C elimination in Scotland has been defined as - less than or equal to, 5000 chronically infected people i.e. no greater than 1:1000 people living in Scotland - for each outcome, <10 people with chronic hepatitis C presenting each year with hepatitis c related liver failure/liver cancer/death
