Description

Birmingham Childrens Trust (BCT), ("the Trust") is responsible for discharging the statutory Social Care duties of Birmingham City Council towards its Children, Young People and Families, among them the duty to provide an Adoption Service. In 2015 the Department for Education introduced the Adoption Support Fund (ASF) for eligible Adopters and Special Guardianship (SGOs) families across England. This fund is designed to offer families specialist therapeutic support following adoption. The purpose of this specification is to ensure quality provision for eligible Adopters and Special Guardianship (SGOs) families across England. This service provision is designed to offer families specialist therapeutic support following adoption in order to achieve the best possible outcomes for children, young people and their families in line with statutory legislation and guidance.

Lot Division

1 Therapeutic/Attachment Focused Parenting Support

• Examples of this includes but is not limited to: - Secure Base / SafeBase Parenting Programme - adOpt Course - parenting programme• Providers will need to specify which standardise programme is being used

2 Therapeutic Life Story Work

• Providers will have a Diploma in Therapeutic Life Story Work or equivalent • Life story work with a therapy is used to help the young person understand and cope with the trauma and difficulties that their life story work might revisit. • Story stem

4 Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)

5 Dyadic Developmental Psychotherapy

Providers will be qualified in DDP to at least Level 2 and receive clinical supervision and to have completed, or be working towards the Practicum.

6 Solution Focussed BRIEF Therapy

Providers will hold a minimum of a BRIEF Certificate in Solution Focussed Practice.

7 Sensory Integration Processing Therapy/Therapeutic Listening Programme/ Sensory Integration Attachment Therapy

Specialist sensory interventions such as Building Underdeveloped Sensori-Motor Systems (BUSS) alongside Sensory Attachment Intervention and Sensory Integration Therapy.

8 Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for the Child

Provider must be qualified to level 2 with the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies.

9 Systemic / Multi Systemic Family Therapy

Providers will be qualified in Systemic Therapy to at least level 3 and receive clinical supervision and / or attended training on Multi-Systemic Therapy.

10 Video Interaction Guidance

Providers must have attended training provided by the Association for Video Interaction Guidance UK or equivalent.

11 Dialectical therapy (branch of CBT)

Providers must hold a qualification in Dialectical Therapy, accredited by the Society for Dialectical Behaviour Therapy.

12 Reducing Anxiety Management Plan (RAMP)

Providers will have attended training in Reducing Anxiety Management Planning.

13 Neuro Integration System Therapy (NIS)

Providers will have attended training in Neuro Integration System Therapy.

14 Lego Therapy

Providers will be able to evidence training in Lego-Therapy.

15 Dance Movement Therapy

Providers must hold a postgraduate qualification in dance movement therapy, accredited by the Association for Dance Movement Therapy (ADMT) UK.

16 Group Programmes

Providers must have attended training relevant to Group delivery or to a particular group programme.

17 Educational Psychotherapy

Providers must hold a qualification in Educational Psychology, accredited by the Association of Educational Psychologists.

18 Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT)

Providers must have attended training provided by MBCT.

19 Creative Therapy

• Music Therapy• Drama Therapy• Art Therapy • MIM – Marschak Interaction Method (common theraplay)

20 Theraplay

Providers will be either fully qualified (completed Level 2 and the practicum) or have completed level 1 plus 8 supervised sessions and be operating under clinical supervision.

21 Mindful Yoga

Providers will be able to evidence training in Mindful Yoga.

22 Non-Violent Resistance (NVR)

Providers will have undertaken training in providing the NVR programme.

23 Training for Adoptive Parents (eg. Secure Base / SafeBase Parenting Programme)

Providers will have undertaken training in providing Secure Base or SafeBase parenting programmes

24 Play Therapy

Providers must hold a qualification in Play Therapy and Therapeutic play, accredited by PTUK

25 Therapeutic support for sexualised behaviour/ sexually harmful behaviour

Providers will have undertaken training in providing support for children demonstrating sexualised and sexually harmful behaviour.

** PREVIEW NOTICE, please check Find a Tender for full details. ** The DPS will be for a period of up to a maximum of 3 years, commencing 1st July 2023 until 30th June 2026, (unless terminated under the terms and conditions of contract) with the option to extend for a further two years in yearly increments. Call-off contracts awarded under the DPS may be in place for up to two years. Contract extension to be reviewed on an annual basis, subject to requirements, availability of funding and satisfactory compliance and performance.
