Description

Public Health Dorset, on behalf of Dorset Council, is seeking to establish a provider for their Integrated All Age Substance Misuse Treatment and Recovery services for adults and young people with problematic substance use. This is a pan-Dorset service covering Dorset Council and Bournemouth, Christchurch, Poole Council. The services provided will incorporate both Tier 2 and Tier 3 Drug and Alcohol services: • Core adult and young people treatment service • Advice & information for drug and/or alcohol users or anyone concerned about someone’s use (friends, family, employers) • Prescribing – prescribing staff, drug costs and pharmacy dispensing costs • Community detoxification • Harm reduction interventions and specialist needle exchange • Group work programmes • One to one key working • Whole family support and interventions • Aftercare and post treatment programmes and activities • Accredited mentoring courses • Young People Substance Misuse advice, information, brief interventions, and engagement • Additional support for rough sleepers and those at risk of homelessness (grant funded) • Additional support for those in and leaving the criminal justice system (grant funded)

Total Quantity or Scope

The scope of the service will mirror existing provision but will incorporate changes to legislation and national strategies, respond to evidence of population needs and trends as well as the learning from delivering integrated provision during the pandemic. In principle this will be a core treatment and support service for adults and young people including the prescribing service. The contract will also incorporate recent developments in the service as a result of grant funding from the Office for Health Improvement and Disparities (OHID).

Renewal Options

At the end of the initial contract period there is an option to extend for a further 24 months, taking the full potential contract end date to 31 March 2032.
