Provision of an airworthy winch person wireless radio communication system to connect and operate with the Puma HC Mk2 Air System Inter-Communication System

Total Quantity or Scope

Provision of an airworthy winch person wireless radio communication system to connect and operate with the Puma HC Mk2 Air System Inter-Communication System (ICS). Each System shall be composed of 1 (one) base station wirelessly connected to a minimum of 1 (one) deployable transceiver with a minimum capable range of 500m. Total quantity will be 12 (twelve) base stations and 18 (eighteen) transceivers. Minimum of 2 (two) base stations and 2 (two) transceivers and associated chargers to be delivered

Legal Justification

The Secretary of State for Defence (the “Authority”) intends to enter into a Contract with Axnes AS for the provision of a Winch Person Communications system and technical support. This equipment will be fitted to the Puma platforms. The contract has an estimated value of £421,000.00 inclusive of VAT and a duration of two years. It is considered that this Contract can be placed as Single Source in accordance with Regulation 16 (1)(a)(i) Absence of tenders or suitable tenders due to the results of a failed competition during the Dynamic Pre-Qualification Questionnaire process which was advertised on the 30th January 2023 and closed on the 28th February 2023.
