Description

NHS Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin ICB are seeking tenders for the provision of a Hydroxychloroquine (HCQ) Retinopathy Monitoring Service. The service shall offer imaging and imaging analysis review and reporting by a suitably trained professional such as optometrist, doctor or technician. Leadership of the service shall be undertaken by a consultant Ophthalmologist with governance, review and audit processes in place. This shall be undertaken in accordance with imaging requirements and specifications set out by the Royal College of Ophthalmologists 2020 or subsequent iterations including further changes in recommendations during the period of the contract. The locally defined outcomes are to: • Increase the awareness of patients and professionals of the side effects of using the drug. • Reduce the risk of the progression of visual loss. • Establish collaborative links with secondary care ophthalmology services in support of interdependent care for patients. • Reduce the length of time people are on HCQ/CQ. The ICB are looking to appoint a Service Provider or Consortium to deliver this Service for a period of 3 Years. The Contract will commence on the 01/10/2023. The estimated total Contract value is £175,680.00, tender submissions exceeding this value shall not be considered further within the tender process. NHS Standard Terms and Conditions shall apply.
