Description

RBWM (Client) has a statutory duty to manage and maintain the (public) highway network within the Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead. This Highway Services Contract is divided into 4 Lots. • Lot 1 Highway Maintenance and Capital Works • Lot 2 Street Cleansing • Lot 3 Highway, Transport and Bridge Professional Services • Lot 4 Traffic Signals and ITS Maintenance Bidders can apply for individual Lots but cannot apply for Lot 1 and Lot 3 together as RBWM wishes to maintain these as the separate services. The suite of Contract documents (as included in the ITT) has been produced in line with NEC 4 Term Service Contract and the Engineering and Construction Contract. The Contracts (awarded as a result of this procurement) are designed to create collaborative and efficient working practices with intention for all Lot service providers to be able to work in partnership to provide best practice, value for money and sustainable services.

1 Lot 1_ Highway Maintenance and Capital Works
  • Duration: 14 year

Lot 1 Highway Maintenance and Capital Works is the core reactive, routine, and planned highway maintenance services and will include, however not restricted to, the following activities: • Coordination and programme of highway repairs including. - Routine and minor planned maintenance of carriageways and footways (including machine laid patching). - Routine, reactive and minor planned maintenance of structures (including M&E). - Routine, reactive and minor planned maintenance of highway signs, including cleaning. - Routine and cyclical programme of works including gully clearance. - Minor and major project works capital and revenue. • General civil engineering projects including cycleways, footway maintenance, drainage infrastructure and safety barriers and integrated transport schemes. • Responding to highway incident, emergency or safety defects following customer reports including structures. • Emergency response 24/7 including on-call availability. • High friction surfacing, lining and other surface treatments (including replacement of markings as appropriate. • Routine, reactive and planned maintenance of safety barriers. • Winter service (including route planning provision of staff and vehicles). • Drainage inspections and inspections for minor repairs/projects and works programming. • Support for special events. • Collaboration with all other service lot providers. • Streetworks Permitting, including road closures, footpath closures, parking suspensions and works related to section 81 and other streetworks regulations. 4 Lot 4_Traffic Signals and ITS Maintenance

Lot 4 Intelligent Traffic Systems (ITS) will be responsible for the maintenance and routine inspection of all ITS infrastructure including design, maintenance and delivery of Traffic systems and Client highway digital infrastructure.
