Description
The contract shall be delivered by one or more service providers to facilitate eight separate specialist technical skilled bootcamps, under Category 4 - Engineering, Manufacturing Technologies and Vehicle Operations of the Learning & Teaching DPS. The eight Skills Bootcamp programmes are as follows: 1. Advanced Fibre, 2. Professional Diagnostic, 3. Vehicle Compliance 4. Techsafe 7. Electric Vehicle 8. Cabinet Making Caravan Industry 9. Tech Management QA Food Manufacturing 10. Fibre Engineers . The Service Provider(s) shall be expected to deliver high quality flexible training programmes to address the needs of adults aged 19+. Delivery is based at level 3 – 5 with a maximum delivery of 16 weeks and a minimum of 60 Guided Learning Hours (GLH) based on employer sector demand. All learning must be instructed under the guidance of a lecturer, supervisor tutor or appropriate provider of education and training whilst on the skills bootcamps.

1 | Advanced Fibre This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Advanced Fibre Skills Bootcamp, and shall include bespoke modules at Level 3 aligned to industry standards and certification. Participants will undertake copper and fibre cabling installation training, termination and testing training this includes: Copper cabling, LAN Hardware, Installing structured cabling, signal theory, Health and Safety, Fire Safety. |
2 | Professional Diagnostics This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Professional Diagnostic Skills Bootcamp and is designed for motor vehicle technicians that are now looking to take their diagnostic skills to the next level. The aim is to give the technician up to date technical information on how these modern systems work and look at the different diagnostic methods that can be used with each system. |
3 | Vehicle Compliance This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Vehicle Compliance Skills Bootcamp and is designed for technicians whose job role involves the inspection, maintenance and repair of light vehicles but do not hold the relevant industry knowledge to become an MOT Tester. |
4 | Techsafe This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Techsafe Skills Bootcamp and is aimed at Light / Heavy Vehicle Technicians who already hold a level 3 qualification but has now been introduced to hybrid and electric vehicles. This Skills Bootcamp will ensure the industry has employees competent to work on electrical systems in hybrid and electric vehicles. Anyone working on high voltages must be competent (as per the Electricity at Work Regulations 1989). |
5 | F Gas Engineers This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide F Gas Engineer Skills Bootcamp and will provide the industry recognised qualifications and skills to existing heating engineers to transition to the heat pump market. The programme is designed to transition existing heating engineers to confidently install, commission both monobloc and split type heat pumps. |
6 | Heat Pump Engineers This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Monobloc Heat Pump Engineer Skills Bootcamp and shall transition existing gas heating engineers to confidently install, commission and service monobloc heating systems. The programme will include MCS recognised BPEC heat pump systems qualifications and a BPEC Low temperatures Hot Water Heating Systems designed. |
7 | Electric Vehicle This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Electric Vehicle Skills Bootcamp and shall address Hybrid Electric Vehicle Repair and Replacement. This course covers the safety precautions to be taken when working on or near a high voltage hybrid or electric vehicle. To complete this course, the learner will safely power down a High Voltage vehicle, remove parts and then re-energise the vehicle. |
8 | Cabinet Making Caravan Industry This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Cabinet making Caravan Industry Skills Bootcamp and shall focus on upskilling employed and the unemployed to gain new skills that aren’t available in the region to support the modular construction sector fill skill gaps in their production teams, specifically, the caravan and lodge industry by developing skills in cabinet making and assembly. |
9 | Tech Management QA Food Manufacturing This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Tech Management Quality Assurance (Food Manufacturing) Skills Bootcamp this shall upskill existing staff within the food manufacturing sector to provide specific management skills in root cause analysis, quality assurance in the food sector and management of the food production. |
10 | Fibre Engineers This Lot is for a Service Provider to provide Fibre Engineering Skills Bootcamp this shall include several accredited qualifications and technical training allowing attendees to acquire the skills, knowledge, and technical ability to progress into jobs with any organisations involved in fibre optic roll-out. |
