Direct Payments are one of the ways someone can receive their Personal Budget to help them pay for the care and support they need. A Direct Payment can give someone more choice and control over the services they use and where they get them from. An individual can choose to receive all, or part, of their Personal Budget as a Direct Payment so that they can buy services or pay someone to support them. A Direct Payment can be spent on services which are legal, keep them safe and healthy, and meet people's eligible needs. There are currently around 1,500 people in East Sussex receiving a Direct Payment.
