Description

The Borough Council of Bolton (the Authority) is prepared to receive tenders to be included on the Flexible Purchasing System for Alternative Education Provision which will be subject to the information, specification and tender package enclosed. The Authority has a duty to provide suitable education for all children of compulsory school age in their area. This includes pupils who are not able to access mainstream school places i.e. permanently excluded pupils, and for other pupils who because of illness or other reasons would not receive suitable education without such arrangements being made. The procurement will be an open tender but will be operating as a Flexible Purchasing System (FPS) which is an open Pseudo-dynamic FPS agreement allowing providers to join the Pseudo-dynamic FPS agreement during the term of the agreement via rounds. Rounds will be opened at certain times during the term when there is a requirement of provision – minimum once a year.

Lot 1 – Primary (KS1 & KS2) education focusing on achieving KS1 and KS2 outcomes to ensure that pupils are ready to make a successful transition into secondary education.

2 Day 6 Exclusion (KS1 – KS2)
  • Value: £1M

Lot 2 – Day 6 Exclusion (KS1 – KS2) providing education from day 6 for any pupil who has a permanent exclusion from mainstream school, so that they continue with their education with minimum disruption.

3 Secondary (KS3 and KS4)
  • Value: £585K

Lot 3- Secondary (KS3 & KS4) education focusing on achieving academic qualifications (GCSE or alternatives) to ensure pupils are ready to make a successful transition into post 16 education or training.

4 Day 6 Exclusion (KS3 – KS4)
  • Value: £3M

Lot 4 – Day 6 Exclusion (KS3 – KS4) providing education from day 6 for any pupil who has a permanent exclusion from mainstream school, so that they continue with their education with minimum disruption.

5 Medical (KS1 – KS4)

Lot 5 – Medical (KS1 – KS4) providing education for pupils who have been prevented from attending their mainstream school as a result of medical needs.

6 Alternative Curriculum and Enrichment Service (KS1 – KS4)

Lot 6 – Alternative curriculum and enrichment service, providing creative and alternative programme that enhances or provides an alternative curriculum for KS1-4 pupils. Tailored support for pupils who are disengaged with learning in the classroom or face challenges with the pace of classroom curriculum.
